Our conference provides financial aid to people who are struggling to pay for basic needs. We have a phone that receives calls from people in need. The most common types of assistance are with rent, electric bills, water bills, food and
medicine.
As often as possible, we meet with people who need our help. Home visits are performed with the highest respect for the dignity of those seeking assistance. We have found that during in-person meetings, individuals feel free to tell us their
stories of struggle as we are asked to listen, offer humble advice, and render assistance. The COVID epidemic has limited our home visits, but as much as possible, we hold in-person meetings at St. Aloysius using CDC-recommended guidelines.
We are in need of volunteers who can commit to about 8 hours a month to reach
out to our neighbors who seek assistance. Volunteer training is provided.
