The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal service organization founded on the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. The main objective of the Knights is to aid the Church; perform charitable, educational and patriotic works; and develop fellowship.
St. Aloysius Gonzaga is among four parishes supported by St. Mary’s Council 1470, chartered on April 24, 1910. Living up to the Knights principles of charity and educational support, St. Mary’s Council donates over $75,000 annually to charitable organizations like Care Net Pregnancy Center, Special Olympics, and The ARC of Southern Maryland, and to our four supported Catholic schools: Father Andrew White, Mother Catherine Academy, St. Mary’s Ryken High School, and the Chesterton Academy.
Council 1470, located at 41605 Fenwick Street in Leonardtown, conducts its planning meeting on the last Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM and its Council / Business meetings on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM.
The Knights of Columbus encourages all practicing Catholic gentlemen 18 years and older to become involved and active in our fraternal organization.
