The St. Aloysius Food Pantry is a special work of the parish conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Managed by the SVdP conference, dedicated volunteers from St. Aloysius Gonzaga, St. John Francis Regis and Our Lady's of Medley's Neck provide their loving commitment of service to Christ by welcoming our neighbors in the pantry.
Parishioners at St. Aloysius, Our Lady’s Church and St. John’s, Fr. Andrew White, S.J. School familes, and other members of our larger community generously donate food, household items and funds to enable the pantry to support those in need.
The pantry offers baby diapers, wipes and baby food to families with infants and toddlers living in their homes. This too is dependent on the generous donation of these items from parishes and the community.
Items are collected after all Masses on Community Sunday weekend, the third Sunday of the month.
The pantry is open to all from 9-11 AM on the third Saturday of each month. The pantry is located in the basement of the church hall, accessible by the ramp near the school playground. People are welcome to "shop" in the pantry, with limits on each of the items. Volunteers will fulfill a checklist for people with mobility challenges or who prefer to remain in their vehicle. The pantry serves residents of Cedar Lane and New Towne Village who are in need and unable to access the pantry with delivery of groceries during the open pantry hours, the third Saturday of the month.
