The reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of Baptismal grace. For by the sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized are bound more perfectly to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are as true witnesses of Christ more strictly obliged, as true witnesses of Christ, to spread and defend the faith by word and deed ( Catechism of the Catholic Church 1285).
At St. Aloysius Church, preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation takes place in the 8th grade, and the sacrament is celebrated in the Fall of the 9th grade. Students preparing for the sacrament should be enrolled in the Family of Faith program, Father Andrew White School, another Catholic school, or an appropriate homeschool curriculum. Contact Leonard Wathen to enroll in preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation.
For older youth and adults who seek Confirmation, special arrangements are made according to individual needs. Please contact Leonard Wathen for more information.
St. Aloysius Church will celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation in October of 2024. See below for recent FlockNote messages about Confirmation preparation:
