Music Ministry

St. Aloysius Music ministry invites you to join us in song and prayer. Dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to attend rehearsals are the only requirements! To sign up, please email the contact for each group listed below.

All choirs sing music of various genres, languages, cultures and styles, including chant, classical, traditional, hymns, contemporary and praise/worship music.

Spirit Singers Children’s Choir (3rd through 8th grade)

Spirit Singers (grades 3-8) audition on Wednesday, September 2, from 4:00 to 5:00. Returning members do not need to audition. Your welcome packet will be emailed to you. The first Spirit Singer rehearsal is Wednesday, September 9, from 4:00-5:00. (Arrive at 3:45.)  We will have a mandatory parent meeting from 4:40-5:00 to go over our schedule and expectations for the year (i.e. dress code, attendance, etc.). Email Kathy Frederick to schedule an audition, and receive additional information.

Cross Generation Youth Choir (9th through 12th grade)

Cross Generation (High School Choir) will have their first meeting on Sunday, September 13, from 12:10-12:30. (Followed by Youth Ministry Kick-Off.) Contact Bridget Tennant, or Jason Forth.

Grateful Hearts Adult Choir (9th grade through 99 years)

Grateful Hearts (Adult Choir) will resume rehearsals on Wednesday, August 26, 7:30 PM. Contact Kathy Frederick

Cantor and Psalmist Ministries

Thank you to Cantors/Psalmists/Accompanists/Praise Band for serving so faithfully this summer! Cantor prep rehearsal time will return to 6:45 PM beginning Wednesday, August 26. Always looking for new cantors! Please contact Matt Scassero.

Handbell Ensemble

The Handbell Ensemble will resume rehearsals on Thursday, August 27 from 7:00-8:30 PM. More information will be in the next bulletin. Contact Rebecca Moore or Kristen Moore.

Praise Band

Praise Band supports sung prayer all year. If you would like to be a member, please contact Jason Forth.

Accompanist and Sound Engineering Ministries

Accompanists and sound engineers play vital roles in supporting the choir and cantor ministries to support the assembly in deeper worship through sung prayer. Pianists, organists, and sound experts of all ages and levels of experience are encouraged to serve! Accompanists and sound engineers are needed at each Mass and special liturgies and events as requested.

Please come and “audition” us at any choir rehearsal! Please come and sit in on a rehearsal to see what it’s like!
