Marian Prayer Garden: Complete

April 12th, 2011  |  Published in News

Have you stopped by the new Marian Prayer Garden between the church and the rectory lately? We think you will be pleased. The restoration of the statue of Mary – a gift 24 years ago from St. Mary’s Academy – is now complete and looks like new. We want to thank Peter Dillon for his work on the restoration. He did a great job. Flowering plants have also been placed at the base of the statue, along with a plaque that has the Prayer Commending Oneself to Mary composed by St. Aloysius Gonzaga, and there are two benches for those who would wish to sit in the garden for quiet prayer and reflection. Many thanks to Dakota Allen, his parents, Matt & Barb, Mike Combs, the many hard working volunteers and all who made donations to the 2010 Summer Appeal. Each of you helped make this Eagle Scout project a reality.
