Pat_KalnasyThis is the first year for the Kalnasy Concert Series. The goal of the series is to provide St. Mary’s County and neighboring counties with the opportunity to enjoy recitals, concerts, and solo/ensemble performances in a large space that gives the feeling of an intimate setting. Established in 2015, the Kalnasy Concert Series was designed to honor the memory of Patricia Kalnasy, an organist and musician at St. Aloysius for 54 years who touched the lives of many in the community. All events take place at St. Aloysius in Leonardtown.

The February 6 student recitals, sponsored by MTASM, the Music Teachers Association of Southern Maryland, had a wonderful turnout. Approximately 100 students, piano and voice, whose gifts are being nurtured by local teachers, performed at a series of 45 minute recitals. These young musicians were from all over Southern Maryland. It was a delightful day of MUSIC!!!!

Please join us for our fourth concert on Friday, April 29, 2016 performed by the musical duo, Belle Triste. Belle Triste, features clarinetist Anita Thomas and classical guitarist Candice Mowbray performing dynamic, soul-stirring art music. Dr. Mowbray, a faculty member of the Shenandoah Coservatory, will also conduct a music appreciation workshop for young musicians on Saturday, April 30, from 11:30-12:30.
